I saw the dialogue between Lawrence and Mr. Davidson from upstairs and it made me snicker. I was wondering if Lawrence has a not-so-good relationship with his neighbor upstairs?

gatoanswers:

Lawrence doesn’t have a good relationship with any of his neighbours. He’s tall and creepy and scares half of them. His apartment smells weird around the door and sometimes people can hear a chair scraping and thumping around, but never a TV or anything normal and fun. His landlord hates that his apartment is always kept so damp and has told him that all those lock screw holes are coming out of his damage deposit.

He wishes he could move to a cabin out in the country but he doesn’t have enough money to move. Maybe someday he’ll get lucky!

Wait, does that mean other things will die if they’re around him for too long? Like, spontaneously, not by being killed?

gatoanswers:

The smaller the animal, the more their lifespan would be harmed. Humans would feel basically no effect to their lifespan- However- A human who stays around Lawrence will have their natural connection to The River begin to decay.

This means that if they were to die after spending a lot of time around him, they mind find it more difficult to ‘find their way’ in The River. The natural pull wouldn’t work on them and they could be lost there forever if they didn’t try to finish dying. Lawrence could also find them and pull them back out, but they will be undead/wrong after that and find that they have trouble ignoring commands from Lawrence.

How do you think Law would turn out if he was put in a place similar to Ren? What if it was him trapped with Strade?

gatoanswers:

Strade would slip up and not be able to deal with Lawrence.

Then Lawrence would be free except with all of Strade’s shit to make capturing and murdering people easier. Instead of staying and continuing his show like Ren, Lawrence would take his money and a bunch of his supplies, get a cabin out in the woods and make campers disappear every year.
