What caused Lawrence to start killing others? Was it an innate desire always in him, or maybe a change in him after he came back from the river? And does he view it as something bad/evil, or a blessing to his victim because of his fixation with the river and death, or something else?

gatoanswers:

He doesn’t consider it evil or a blessing. He feels like an outsider to the human race and finds other people to generally be dangerous. Either they’re a nuisance, or dangerous, or lying. At his best, he’s a loner who wants to be away from society whenever he can, but he’s also right no the edge of snapping and lashing out at any person who interacts with him.

A small part of him feels genuine loneliness too because of all this, and that’s why he was online in morbid curiosity forums, posting pictures of animal bones and meeting Ren who was so nice and accepting over the internet.

You said that Strade was a really good and friendly neighboor and i have a question now. Didny anybody become curious where the hell went their “friendly neighboor Strade”? Didnt anyone tried to call the cops or at least visit him by themselfs? Or ask that redheaded guy who started to leave in Strade’s house without him even being there?

gatoanswers:

“Oh I’m his coworker’s son! I needed a place to stay and he’s letting me house-sit for him while he’s back in Germany. He had family there apparently and I think someone is sick? I’m not sure how long he’ll be gone, but I guess it was a pretty lucky break for me!”
